The Harding Farm was established in the late 1960's as an extension of that tradition. Kenneth W. Harding began planting ginseng seeds that he collected from wild ginseng on property he owned for hunting purposes. The slopes are too rocky and steep for traditional agriculture but absolutely perfect for ginseng.

The grand master of Ginseng the Late Ken Harding.  Late August
photographed just before we do our seed harvest. This patch is 7 year
old plants. Notice how tall and lush the leaves are. There's some good
root to be dug in this patch!
