The Harding Ginseng Farm was established in the late 1960's.
Kenneth W. Harding began planting ginseng seeds that he collected from
wild ginseng on property he owned for hunting purposes. The slopes are
too rocky and steep for traditional agriculture but absolutely perfect
for ginseng. Harding's Farm has lifted wild simulated ginseng cultivation
to a new level. Cultivation is a dedicated process taking 8-10 years
for the types of roots that yield maximum ginseng
potency.
